A Salem Academy education can change a girl’s life in extraordinary ways. Founded before America’s Declaration of Independence, Salem is the oldest school for girls in continuous operation in the United States. As experts in educating young women, we combine modern education that challenges and inspires with our timeless traditions that value honor, integrity, conscientiousness, and spirituality. Salem Academy faculty members are passionate, highly qualified professionals, and include Fulbright recipients, Teachers of the Year, and leaders the national AP organization. In collaboration with a nurturing staff, they foster an environment in which girls can explore and succeed in a variety of subjects, resulting in AP scores that outpace regional and national trends and a 100% college acceptance rate into the nation’s best universities.
In today’s globally-connected world, girls deserve an education that will prepare them for the unexpected—for opportunities and goals in a future not yet imagined. At Salem Academy, our mission is to educate high school girls, both academically and personally, so that they are ready to engage the world as intelligent, confident, and capable young women. Now, more than ever, making lifelong connections with friends from around the world will be essential to our students’ success. Salem Academy opens the world to all our students, and we feel strongly that their global education should begin at the high school level. The different perspectives students bring to debates in the classroom, life in the dorm, and friendships allow students to learn about global issues in an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, and fun.
